I mean, not really, they can just as easily generate the information themselves. By allowing giving out all the data to the community, we help these people optimizing their business.
Can't say I agree. Having these types of options available to everyone and they all use it and you dont puts you at a direct disadvantage to those players. I personally have not experienced performance issues, but I suppose it all depends on your setup.

Is this just a waste of time? I don't think poster read this at all So it leaves you with a choice, either play the way i want to play by exploring and figuring everything out myself but at a slower rate, or keep up with the average players playing and possibly close friends who are blowing through everything using these types of recourses, but in the process lose the way you enjoy playing because axdon speed through everything and lose the exploration feel.
If I'm still not making any sense, then allow me to elaborate. I pray they are never a necessity for things like PvP.
From my experience, there is pretty much no afdon between a bot using such data and a legit player slaving to hours of farming a set route using an addon that utilizes such data like gatherer. Harvest Map Markers no longer relies on it. I haven't seen that before. The game stalls after character selection and boots me back to log in after about 30 sec of trying to load, giving me an "Unknown error".
Disabled Esohead because of this.

I have NO idea what that means: I know what you mean, its a multiplayer game and part of the joy isnt just playing it single player, you want to be somewhat on par with other people to enjoy it with them as well, especially if you have friends that play.
Love WoWHead, it's very helpful site which i am still using, well not much lately. It should only fire when you are harvesting. Installed it during the beta and still using it, regularly uploading data to ESOHead. Their character creation simulator is great by the way. For whatever reason, the boss in Spindleclutch would do a pull action on me and then the stupid box would pop up, preventing me from dodging out of the red zone. Honourable mention just for the sheer stick-to-it-iveness.
